Sal is a native of Iloilo, Philippines, and immigrated to California and Georgia at an early age.
Before moving to New York, Sal’s journey into being a Physical therapist started after
incurring a serious knee injury in high school in which the process of rehabilitating from
that injury changed his life. He went on to recover and competed in multiple sports, ran
marathons, triathlons, bike races and dance competitions. Because of this experience he
has incredible empathy for patients/clients going through their own recovery journey as he
experienced it himself first hand, he recognized that Physical Therapy is very important for
everyone and also a fulfilling career.

In terms of educational background and experience, Sal received his degree in Physical
Therapy at St. Paul University Iloilo – Philippines in 2015, passed his board examination in
2016, and proceeded with finishing his Transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy at EIM
Institute of Health Professions in 2020. Throughout the years he has acquired multiple
certifications namely in Kinesiotaping, Running Rehabilitation, Cup Therapy, Vestibular
Therapy, and is also a Certified Clinical Instructor teaching PT students since 2019. He
always strives to learn and be better each year in order to have more tools in his PT toolbox
so he can help his patients/clients. Sal has over 8 years of high-level experience in Physical
Therapy, he has worked in a variety of Orthopedic and Sports medicine settings, as well as
neurologically compromised patient populations. He also has experience in private and
home care settings.

Sal’s approach to Physical Therapy is based on properly evaluating and assessing the main
source of pain or dysfunction. With this approach the patient/client will benefit from an
individualized treatment using appropriate programming and integrated PT techniques. On
top of his excellent treatment philosophy, he emphasizes the importance of recovery does
not end in the PT office but he also takes a holistic approach in order to mitigate/prevent
future injuries. His professionalism and pleasing personality makes him a joy to work with.
Out of the office you might see him coaching Grassroots youth soccer, or medical
volunteering for running/bike races (if hes not doing them), spending time with loved ones,
traveling, and being outdoors.
“In Physical Therapy Its not ‘No pain no gain’ but its ‘No effort, no gain’”. -Sal Deocampo
