Dave graduated from Northeastern University’s Physical Therapy program magna cum laude in 2000. He has participated in extensive continuing education courses with a focus on orthopedics and sports physical therapy. In 2006, Dave began a quarterly sports medicine and orthopedic journal club to discuss current topics in our field with some of our area physicians and rehabilitation professionals. Dave has served as a part time instructor at Naugatuck Valley Community College in the Physical Therapy Assistant program. In addition to his work as a physical therapist, Dave is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has worked with recreational, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes to improve their sport performance through core strengthening and sport-specific flexibility, strength, and balance training.

Dr. Donnelly graduated from the University of Hartford summa cum laude, valedictorian in 2004 with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. She was awarded the University’s Regents Award, the Physical Therapy Department’s academic award and the faculty leadership award. Tara graduated with a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Temple University in 2007. She was awarded the prestigious Mary McMillan Award by the American Physical Therapy Association. Her extensive post-graduate training includes a year long Orthopedic Manual Therapy course with an emphasis on spine care in 2005 at the Institute of Rehabilitation and Training in Montgomery, AL. She is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. Tara has lectured on both the state and national level regarding bio-mechanics and overuse injuries of the lower extremity. Tara has been actively involved in both the Connecticut Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. Tara has extensive knowledge and expertise in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic patients.

Russell graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences in 2014, and completed his Doctoral of Physical Therapy at the University of Connecticut in May 2017. As a recent graduate, he is very excited and motivated to begin his career as a physical therapist. He enjoys treating all varieties of musculoskeletal injuries and patients, and particularly enjoys working with children and adolescent patients. Russell played baseball growing up, which developed his affinity for treating shoulder injuries and working with throwing and overhead athletes. He is currently in the process of publishing a study researching the role the cervical spine plays in predisposing collegiate baseball pitchers to arm injuries during the course of a baseball season.

Elizabeth graduated from the Tunxis community college physical therapist assistant program in 2007. Early in her career she focused on subacute rehabilitation and home care physical therapy. In those settings she primarily treated postoperative orthopedic conditions including a larger focus on joint replacement surgeries. In 2018 she received her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Bay Path University and expanded her practice into outpatient orthopedics with a special interest on upper extremity pathology combining both her physical therapy and occupational therapy background.

Dr. Ferguson graduated from the University of Hartford with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in 2017. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Hartford in May 2020. Marisa played Division I softball as an undergraduate at UHart, which developed her passion for treating orthopedic injuries. During her graduate studies, Marisa spent time conducting research on the effect of assistive jump training in Division I volleyball players. She has had the opportunity to work in several 3D motion analysis labs, which built her interest in lower extremity injury rehabilitation for all ages. Marisa is eager to begin her career as part of the Advanced Physical Therapy team, and she looks forward to helping patients achieve their goals.

Dr. Frechette graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2017, and went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut in May 2020. While pursuing her DPT, Laura spent time conducting research on ACL reconstruction recovery, including motor control and psychological factors affecting return-to-sport. She has also had the opportunity to take several elective courses in geriatric physical therapy, and enjoys working with individuals of all ages. Laura joined Advanced Physical Therapy in 2020 at the Bristol office.

Dr. Hoerst graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelor of Science in 2013 and completed his Doctoral of Physical Therapy at Arcadia University in January of 2018. While at Arcadia University, he was awarded an academic scholarship and served as a graduate assistant in the Physical Therapy program. While studying, he was hired as a lead teaching assistant for anatomy and served as a tutor for first year students. He also helped create Arcadia’s transitional doctoral program. In his second year, he was  invited to participate in research mentored by the program chair which produced a presentation accepted for the APTA’s national conference and was later awarded Arcadia’s first Arthur Kroner Endowed Physical Therapy Award and Grant. Following graduation, he was accepted to and completed a year long orthopedic residency through Arcadia and hopes to become a board certified clinical orthopedic specialist in March of 2020.

Kevin graduated from the University of Hartford in 1999 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science in Physical Therapy. He was elected into the Alpha Chi Honor Society while at Hartford. He then completed his Masters in Physical therapy at Quinnipiac University with a focus on orthopedics in 2007. He graduated with a GPA of 3.92. Throughout his career, Kevin has worked at orthopedic and sports physical therapy. He specializes in treatment of high school and collegiate athletes as well at those with age-related issues. He has attended multiple continuing education courses focusing on both operative and non-operative rehabilitation techniques. He also has trained at the Andrews Institute under the world-renowned Dr. James Andrews. He has assisted in the development of baseball specific rehabilitation protocols and is currently implementing a Functional Movement Screening program in area high schools to help reduce injury in high school athletes.

Dr. Hubert attended Quinnipiac University from 2005-2013 graduating with her bachelors in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine in 2009 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in January 2013. While pursuing her DPT, she served as Associate Athletic Trainer at Cheshire Academy and graduate assistant Athletic Trainer at Quinnipiac University. As part of her doctoral research project with Quinnipiac University, Pam worked alongside lymphedema specialist’s trailing kinesiology tape in the management of lymphedema. The research was accepted by the National Lymphedema Network and American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting for presentation. Pam also specializes in the treatment of vertigo, vestibular disorders, and management of head injuries after concussions.

Dr. Ingriselli graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010 with his degree in Athletic Training and went on to receive his masters degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While attending his masters program Joe also spent time conducting research on concussion rehabilitation at the Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center. Joe is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification and a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. Joe followed up his masters by returning to UCONN to receive his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2015. He has worked with elite division one and professional athletes and is passionate about restoring function and returning people to the activities they love.

Amanda recently joined our team after finishing her last contract in travel physical therapy allowing her the unique ability to provide a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to each client’s care. Outside the clinic, Amanda volunteers her time in adaptive sports, with special interests in wheelchair basketball and adaptive rock climbing. You can also find her on the soccer field or with her head in a book. Amanda joined Advanced Physical Therapy in 2020 at our Wolcott and Prospect offices.

Ryan attended Springfield College in Massachusetts from 2014 to 2018, graduating with his Bachelors in Athletic Training. During his time at Springfield College, Ryan covered Division I and Division III sports including ice hockey, men’s and women’s gymnastics and softball, Ryan also completed two clinical internships at Secondary Schools during the time. Ryan completed a highly competitive and rigorous internship at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World in Orlando, FL between his Junior and Senior Year of his undergraduate career. During Ryan’s senior year at Springfield College, he completed research into the rate of hip injuries in Division III ice hockey players.  Ryan is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification, a Licensed Athletic Trainer through the State of Connecticut and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Dr. Manganello graduated from Simmons College with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2005.  She has worked in outpatient orthopedic clinics for her career and has been teaching a continuing education course around the country for kinesiology taping technique and movement assessment since 2011.  She has worked with 2 USA swim teams working on injury prevention.  Dr. Manganello’s expertise includes exercise and movement therapy and manual techniques with a special focus on restoring function and mitigating disability for injured clients.

Erica completed an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program at Sacred Heart University from 2015 through 2016. Dr. Vose graduated from Quinnipiac University and was elected into the Alpha Chi Honor Society. She has specialized post graduate training in the Mulligan Manual Therapy Concept (MMTC) utilizing an advanced manual approach to treat musculoskeletal injuries. She is working toward becoming a Certified Mulligan Practitioner. Lindsay also has experience treating pain and dysfunction related to arthritis, orthopedic injury, and vestibular disorders. During her undergraduate and graduate career, Lindsay completed extensive research in ACL rehabilitation and improvement of at-risk screening protocols for adolescent and college-age athletes in order to decrease the risk of ACL tears and post-surgical failure rates.

Lindsay grew up playing a variety of sports including ice hockey, lacrosse, and running; which fostered a passion for treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries for patients of all ages and educating individuals on maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
